John Shetland Tweed Trousers
The John Shetland Tweed Trousers interpret our most iconic model through one of the most assertive variants in the collection, combining sartorial construction, Shetland wool, and the tradition of Scottish tartan.
Made from 100% Shetland wool, selected and imported from the United Kingdom by De Paz, this variant is inspired by the historic Blue Stewart tartan, a pattern with a strong identity characterized by a predominant blue base crossed by color contrasts that highlight its typical checkered motif.
More vibrant and striking than the other variants, it nonetheless retains the classic character of tartan and lends itself to combinations with knitwear and jackets in more sober tones, allowing the trousers to take center stage.
The model features double pleats, designed to offer greater room and comfort in the upper part of the trousers while maintaining an elegant and well-defined line. The large side pockets are complemented by a characteristic front coin pocket, while the externally attached suspender buttons directly recall the tradition of sartorial men's trousers.
SHETLAND TWEED
The Shetland Tweed represents a particular expression of the great British tweed tradition. While the term Scottish Tweed can encompass fabrics made with wools of different characteristics, Shetland Tweed is distinguished by the use of wool from the Shetland sheep, a breed native to the Scottish islands of the same name and historically prized for the quality of its fleece.
The Shetland wool is known for its particular combination of softness, fineness, warmth, and resistance. Used in the creation of tweed, it allows for a fabric with a rich, textured surface, but with a softer hand than many tweeds of a more rustic character.
THE BLUE STEWART TARTAN
The Blue Stewart belongs to the great Stewart tartan family and proposes an interpretation dominated by shades of blue. The interplay of the design's different colors makes this variant particularly rich and recognizable, while maintaining the link to traditional Scottish aesthetics.
