De Paz Original Cap in Shetland Herringbone
One of the most elaborate versions in the line, the De Paz Original Cap in beige Shetland combines a check pattern with a Herringbone weave visible when observing the fabric up close.
The result is a cloth rich in detail: the beige background keeps the cap bright and versatile, while the weave adds depth and makes the surface less uniform.
The fabric was selected by De Paz and is part of the same material research we use to create our tailored garments.
SHETLAND AND HERRINGBONE
The wool of the Shetland sheep is known for its fine balance between softness, natural elasticity, warmth, and durability. For centuries, the characteristics of its fleece have favored its use in knitwear as well as in tweeds and more structured cloths.
On this base appears the Herringbone weave, constructed through diagonals that change direction to form a succession of “V” shapes. The English name refers to the shape of a herring’s spine.
In this variant, checks and Herringbone coexist in the same fabric: a detail that is captured especially from up close and which makes the cap particularly sophisticated.
The construction is entrusted to English artisan workshops, with a soft inner lining and a slightly elasticated back.
