Raglan Coat in Donegal Herringbone Tweed – Grey
Donegal Herringbone Tweed Raglan Coat
The De Paz Donegal Herringbone Tweed Raglan Coat interprets the tradition of the great British overcoat through a substantial 700g 100% Irish wool cloth, selected for its exceptional warmth, durability, and textural character.
The grey variant particularly highlights the structure of the Donegal and the geometry of the Herringbone weave, while the characteristic colored flecks emerge on the surface, creating depth and movement. Inside, a contrasting red lining introduces a bold and recognizable note.
The characteristic Raglan sleeve naturally follows the line of the shoulder and makes it particularly easy to wear the coat over jackets, blazers, and heavy knitwear. The long cut further increases protection during the cold season.
The construction includes a button and internal button on the front closure, two outer pockets, two internal buttoned pockets, a deep internal newspaper pocket, and a rear vent.
THE RAGLAN COAT
The coat takes its name from Lord Raglan, a 19th-century British general. The specific sleeve construction was created to ensure greater freedom of movement and ease of wear.
The Raglan sleeve starts from the neck area, avoiding the classic shoulder seam and creating a more fluid and comfortable line. From a functional military-origin solution, it became one of the most recognizable models of the British wardrobe.
THE DONEGAL HERRINGBONE TWEED
The Donegal Tweed is one of the symbolic fabrics of the Irish textile tradition. The characteristic colored flecks distributed throughout the weave make its surface rich, irregular, and immediately recognizable.
The Herringbone weave adds a geometric zig-zag structure formed by a succession of “Vs”, creating an interesting contrast with the chromatic irregularity of the Donegal.
At 700g, this fabric is a true overcoat cloth: extremely warm, substantial, durable, and protective.
The De Paz Raglan Coat is 100% Made in Italy and tailored with sartorial expertise, using original certified 100% Irish Donegal Herringbone Tweed, selected and imported directly from Ireland by De Paz.
