Three-piece Donegal Tweed suit
Among the suits in the collection, the green Donegal Tweed one perhaps has the most textured character.
The background color is crossed by small flecks, or neps, typical of this fabric: tiny chromatic elements incorporated into the yarn that break up the uniformity of the green and make every centimeter of the cloth richer.
The suit consists of a jacket, trousers, and matching waistcoat and is made using original Donegal Tweed, selected directly by De Paz and imported from Ireland.
Once it arrives in Italy, the fabric is entrusted to a specialized workshop, where a three-piece suit of superior sartorial quality takes shape.
DONEGAL TWEED
The Donegal Tweed belongs to the textile tradition of County Donegal, in northwestern Ireland, where wool spinning and weaving have been documented in local communities since at least the 19th century.
Its most well-known aesthetic signature is represented precisely by the colored neps or flecks inserted into the yarn: small, irregular dots of color that are not imperfections, but an integral part of the fabric's identity.
Donegal combines a rich and recognizable surface with characteristics that have historically made it suitable for warm, durable garments. Over time, from a cloth tied to local tradition, it has also become an important material in men's tailoring and international fashion.
On the green background, the flecks emerge discreetly, making the suit less uniform and giving it depth and an authentically Irish character.
A THREE-PIECE TO BE WORN SEPARATELY TOO
The jacket, trousers, and waistcoat share the same fabric and together create a suit with a strong personality.
But Donegal Tweed also allows for less formal use: the jacket can become a sartorial outerwear piece, the waistcoat can be worn over a shirt or a thin sweater, and the trousers can be paired separately.
A complete suit, therefore, but not necessarily confined only to formal occasions.
